Coronavirus, today’s bulletin, Wednesday, December 2, 2020. There are 20,709 new Covid cases registered in the last 24 hours in Italy, for a total of 1,641,610 cases since the beginning of the epidemic. Yesterday’s deaths were 684. This is what emerges from the daily bulletin of the Ministry of Health on the spread of the coronavirus in our country. As for the swabs made today, they are 207,143, compared to 182,100 yesterday. The proportion of positive swabs fell to 9.9 percent. The positives are also currently down, which today are 761,230, compared to yesterday’s 788,471. 38,740 people discharged / cured have increased considerably, for a total of 823,335 since the beginning of the epidemic. At the territorial level, the regions with the highest number of infections are the Lombardy (3,425), the Veneto (2,782), the Campania (1842), the Lazio (1,791), the Puglia (1,668) and the Piedmont (1,568).

The data in Veneto

There are 2,782 new SarsCov2 infections recorded in Veneto in the last 24 hours, as it brings the total infected to 150,909, but seems to confirm a downward trend compared to the daily peaks of 3,500-4,000 cases last week. The newsletter of the Region informs it. However, the number of victims remains high, 69 more than yesterday, for a total of 3,887 deaths (including hospitals and nursing homes). The data on hospitalizations are heavy: 2,754 (+48) patients in the medical area, 340 (+10) those in intensive care. Strong decline compared to the currently positive subjects: today they are 68,792, against 80,997 yesterday (-12,205).

Data in South Tyrol

The daily balance of the coronavirus pandemic in South Tyrol is always high: the Provincial Health Authority reports another 7 deaths, which represent a total of 542 since the beginning of the emergency. In addition, 317 new positive cases have been found in the one based on 2,011 PCR swabs (of which 565 new tests) and another 107 positive ones based on 1,639 antiphenic tests carried out yesterday. There are 33 Covid-19 patients hospitalized in intensive care wards, 273 in normal hospital wards, 143 in affiliated private facilities, and 77 in isolation at the Colle Isarco and Sarnes facilities. There are 7,458 people in home isolation. The cured are 12,317 (279 more than yesterday), to which are added 1,361 people (7 more) who underwent a test with an uncertain or unclear result and who later came back negative.

In Tuscany, there are 104,875 cases of coronavirus positivity, 776 more than yesterday (421 identified in the course of screening and 355 from detection activities). New cases are 0.7% more than the total of the previous day. The average age of the 776 cases at present is around 48 years (15% are under 20, 19% between 20 and 39, 36% between 40 and 59, 19% between 60 and 79, 11% have 80 years or older). Those cured grew 5.6% and reached 64,632 (61.6% of all cases). The swabs made reached 1,591,558, 13,549 more than yesterday, of which 5.7% were positive. On the other hand, 4,461 subjects evaluated today (excluding control swabs), of which 17.4% were positive.

The new cases of Covid-19 in Lazio are close to 1800. Of more than 24,000 swabs (-2,095 compared to yesterday), today there are 1,791 positive cases (+122), 45 deaths (-24) and +780 cured. The ratio of positives to swabs is 7%. “The deceleration trend is confirmed and deaths are decreasing,” commented the Regional Health Councilor, Alessio D’Amato, who stressed: “The reopening of schools a week before Christmas makes little sense.”

The currently positive Covid downward trend in Umbria continues, now 7,083,597 less than yesterday according to the image updated by the Region. The last day there were 278 new positives, 24,230 in total, against 865 cured, 16,722, but also ten more deaths, 425. Positive data from hospitalized patients, 405, 21 less than yesterday, 62 (minus two) in intensive care. On the swab front, 4,015,424,921 were tested in the last day, with a positivity rate of 6.9 percent, an increase compared to yesterday’s 3.29 but still significantly lower than the national one at 10.6%.

Data in Basilicata

Yesterday 1,451 swabs were processed in Basilicata to search for Covid-19 contagion, of which 170 (and of these 154 residents in Basilicata) were positive. In addition, yesterday 80 people were cured. There were no deaths, for the second day in a row. This was reported by the Region’s working group, reporting that with this update there are 6,166 currently positive Lucanians (6,092 in the last update, to which 154 positive residents are added and 80 resident cures are subtracted). 179 people are currently hospitalized in Lucanian hospitals.

Data in Lombardy

In Lombardy, 36,077 smears were made: of these 3,425 new positive cases were registered, with a percentage therefore of 9.4. The number of hospitalized in intensive care (-21) and 7,222 that of hospitalized in other departments (-120) fell to 855. There are 175 deaths, bringing the overall total to 22,279. Regarding the Provinces, 1,109 cases were reported in Milan, of which 438 in the city, in Varese 362, in Como 316, Brescia 303, in Mantua 265, in Monza 244, in Sondrio 192, in Pavía 187, in Bergamo 130, in Cremona 125, in Lodi 55 and in Lecco 53.

The data in Campania

The rate of new positives (1842) in swabs processed in Campania (19,759) fell to 9.3%. Symptomatic patients reach 185, and the number of beds occupied in intensive care drops by another six compared to yesterday: today 173 of the 656 available. The hospital situation also improves in terms of ordinary hospitalizations for covid, which today are 2,064 (less than 35 compared to yesterday) of the 3,160 places available in public and private health centers. On the other hand, the number of victims remains high: the Crisis Unit’s bulletin reports 43. Meanwhile, expectations are growing about a possible relaxation of the restrictions, which are still in progress. In particular, Campania could move into the orange or even yellow zone.

The data in Puglia

The number of infections in Puglia remains high, with 1,668 new cases compared to 9,693 swabs and 29 new deaths. So far 9,693 swabs have been performed, but the number of recovered patients is beginning to increase and, albeit slightly, the number of hospitalized patients is decreasing. However, 645 more patients were cured than yesterday: consequently, hospitalizations are also decreasing: today there are 1,889 patients treated in hospitals, compared to 1,911 yesterday. Intensive care is also less crowded: it has gone from 218 admissions yesterday to 204 today.

Data in Abruzzo

Decrease in infections in Abruzzo, which still records 21 deaths on December 2: 381 new cases and the number of current positives continues to decline. The death toll in the region rises to 927 as it rises
the number of hospitalized patients slightly, which went from 773 to 777, while the number of intensive care units employed decreased.
