Two hundred doctors working every day on tampons for travelers arriving in Palermo. The general director of the ASP, Daniela Faraoni, and the commissioner for the Covid emergency, Renato Costa, have prepared the intervention plan for the prevention of the spread of the coronavirus during the next holidays.
Starting tomorrow (Friday, December 11) 3 teams of 20 doctors each will be hired in 3 shifts at Falcone and Borsellino airports. At the 15 workstations built by Gesap, approximately 3,000 rapid swabs per day can be performed from 6.30 am to midnight. Positive antigens will be subjected to a molecular swab at the same site, as required by the health protocol for verification definitive.
The same commitment and the same methods -as of Saturday- also for prevention activities in ports. A gazebo will be installed in each of the 6 landings in Palermo with the start of daily activity with the first ship at 6 am and ending at 11 pm in the seventh position, set up in the port of Termini Imerese.
For those who come to the city by train, bus or car, the Drive In of the Mediterranean Fair is available, which, starting next Saturday, December 12, will boost the offer in favor of citizens. Doctors will be busy seven days a week, from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. (the doors will be closed and service will be guaranteed to the cars lined up within the Fair until exhaustion and in any case before 10 p.m.).
To optimize and streamline operations, users are asked to present themselves at the Drive In with, in addition to a health card and an identification document, also the printed, completed and signed informed consent form. The form can be downloaded from the following link on the ASP Palermo website (CLICK HERE for the form).
“We expect to perform more than 8,000 swabs per day – explained Faraoni and Costa – the objective is to identify and isolate the positives before they can come into contact with family or friends. The urgent invitation is addressed, above all, to those who will come to the city with their own means: we ask them to go, even before reaching their homes, to the Drive In of the Mediterranean Fair that will guarantee tests for 14 hours a day through of quick swabs “.
