1,932 new cases and 37 deaths

There are 1,932 more positive cases than yesterday (1,545 identified in the course of tracking and 387 from detection activities) out of a total of 71,852 units since the start of the pandemic. In Tuscany, new cases are 2.8% more than the total of the previous day.
The average age of 1,932 cases today is about 46 years old (13% are under 20, 24% between 20 and 39, 37% between 40 and 59, 19% between 60 and 79, 7% are 80 years or older ).

Those cured grew by 4.3% and reached 21,198 (29.5% of all cases). The swabs made reached 1,275,580, 15,786 more than yesterday. 7960 subjects were analyzed (excluding control swabs), of which 24.3% were positive. To these are added the 2,785 rapid antigenic swabs that are carried out today. The current positives are 48,916 today, 2.1% more than yesterday. There are 1,909 hospitalized (35 more than yesterday), of which 256 in intensive care (10 more).

Today there are 37 new deaths: 18 men and 19 women with an average age of 84.4 years.
Regarding the province of residence, the deceased are: 14 in Florence, 2 in Prato, 2 in Pistoia, 1 in Massa Carrara, 1 in Lucca, 5 in Pisa, 6 in Livorno, 1 in Arezzo, 5 in Siena.

These are the data – verified at 12 noon today based on requests from the National Civil Protection – related to the advance of the epidemic in the region.

It should be remembered that as of June 24, 2020, the Ministry of Health changed the data collection system on the spread of Covid-19. Positive cases are no longer indicated by province of notification, but by province of residence or domicile.

The following are the cases of positivity in the area with the change from yesterday. There are 20,986 cases in total to date in Florence (498 more than yesterday), 6,224 in Prato (194 more), 5,919 in Pistoia (184 more), 3,837 in Massa (116 more), 6,739 in Lucca (154 more), 10,084 in Pisa (331 more), 5,177 in Livorno (127 more), 6,977 in Arezzo (145 more), 3,061 in Siena (103 more), 2,293 in Grosseto (80 more). 555 positive cases were reported in Tuscany, but residing in other regions. Therefore, there are 876 cases found today in Central ASL, 728 in the Northwest, 328 in the Southeast.

Tuscany ranks seventh in Italy in terms of the number of cases (including residents and non-residents), with about 1,927 cases per 100,000 inhabitants (the Italian average is 1,704 x 100,000, yesterday’s figure). The notification provinces with the highest rate are Prato with 2,415 cases x 100,000 inhabitants, Pisa with 2,406, Florence with 2,075, and Grosseto the lowest with 1,035.

In total, 47,007 people are isolated at home, as they present mild symptoms that do not require hospital care or do not present symptoms (981 more than yesterday, 2.1% more). There are 41,883 (1,771 more than yesterday, plus 4.4%) people, also isolated, under active surveillance, for having had contact with infected people (Asl Centro 14,951, Northwest 16,068, Southeast 10,864).

The people admitted to beds dedicated to Covid patients today are a total of 1,909 (35 more than yesterday, plus 1.9%), 256 in intensive care (10 more than yesterday, plus 4.1%).

The total number of people cured is 21,198 (879 more than yesterday, plus 4.3%): 1,372 people clinically cured (64 more than yesterday, plus 4.9%), that is, they were asymptomatic after presenting clinical manifestations associated with Infection and 19,826 (815 more than yesterday, plus 4.3%) declared cured in all aspects, the so-called viral cures, with double negative swab.

1,738 have died since the beginning of the epidemic as follows: 637 in Florence, 93 in Prato, 129 in Pistoia, 220 in Massa Carrara, 189 in Lucca, 161 in Pisa, 114 in Livorno, 96 in Arezzo, 50 in Siena , 32 in Grosseto, 17 people died on Tuscan soil but were residents outside the region.

Tuscany’s crude death rate (number of deaths / resident population) for Covid-19 is 46.6 x 100,000 residents versus 71.2 x 100,000 for the Italian average (11th region). Regarding the provinces, the highest mortality rate is found in Massa Carrara (112.9 x 100 000), Florence (63.0 x 100 000) and Lucca (48.7 x 100 000), the lowest in Grosseto (14.4 x 100,000).
