The black numbers for the pandemic show no signs of abating. Also for today, the bulletin issued by the Department of Health Promotion assigns worrying numbers to the Puglia Region, on the first day of transformation of the orange to yellow area: compared to 7,293 tests for Covid-19 coronavirus infection and have been recorded 1,789 positive cases: 783 in the province of Bari, 136 in the province of Brindisi, 160 in the province of BAT, 214 in the province of Foggia, 220 in the province of Lecce, 259 in the province of Taranto, 8 residents outside the region, 9 cases of unknown residence are has been reclassified and attributed. The northern part of the region, for which the Emiliana board is considering returning to the directives from the orange zone, confirms its criticality. But now the figures for the provinces of Lecce and Taranto are also alarming (here the full bulletin).
As for deaths, today there have been some 24: 5 in the province of Bari, 12 in the province of Bat, 5 in the province of Foggia, 2 in the province of Taranto.
From a statistical point of view, the positive / swab ratio increases: today it is the third worst figure in history in Puglia, with 24.5 positive every 100 swabs. Furthermore, the region gets the black jersey of the day, in this respect: after Puglia, there are in fact Veneto (23.8), Emilia Romagna (16.01), Piedmont (13.5) and Sicilia (12.5) . After four days of general reduction of hospitalizations in the different departments of the hospital, today in Apulia the figure moves against the trend, with a resumption of hospitalizations (1,816 patients not treated at home).
839,673 tests have been performed since the emergency began. 16,795 patients recovered. 45,834 are currently positive cases.
The total of positive Covid cases in Puglia is 64,341, divided as follows:
- 25,168 in the province of Bari;
- 7,300 in the province of Bat;
- 4,628 in the province of Brindisi;
- 14,378 in the province of Foggia;
- 4,886 in the province of Lecce;
- 7,553 in the province of Taranto;
- 408 attributed to residents outside the region,
- 20 province of unknown residence.
