A net decrease in swabs performed in Apulia leads, on the one hand, to a significant decrease in the number of new infections but at the same time to a significant increase in the percentages of positives among test subjects: these are the data arise from the regional daily bulletin on the progress of the virus in Puglia, according to information compiled by the Department of Health Promotion.
The swabs performed for the Covid 19 coronavirus infection in the last 24 hours were, in fact, 3,869 with 980 positive cases found and divided as follows: 404 in the province of Bari, 66 in the province of Brindisi, 187 in the BAT province, 168 in Foggia province, 16 in Lecce province, 139 in Taranto province, 3 residents outside the region, 3 cases of unknown residence have been reclassified and attributed. From the 20% of positive people who came out of the swabs processed yesterday, therefore, we go to 25% today.
Unfortunately, 40 deaths have also been recorded: 20 in the province of Bari, 18 in the province of Foggia, 1 in the province of Lecce, 1 in the province of Taranto.
Since the beginning of the emergency, 723,172 smears have been performed: the recovered patients have risen to 11,288 (313 more than in the last 24 hours), while the positives are currently 31,979.
The total number of Covid cases in Puglia is 44,487, divided as follows: 17,296 in the province of Bari; 5,020 in the province of Bat; 3,061 in the province of Brindisi; 10,336 in the province of Foggia; 3,404 in the province of Lecce; 5,059 in the province of Taranto; 309 attributed to residents outside the region, 2 province of unknown residence.
The APL prevention departments have activated all the procedures for the acquisition of anamnestic and epidemiological information, with the aim of tracing close contacts.
