151 new positives in just 24 hours compared to 2,645 swabs analyzed. This is a number that has never been reached in Umbria, where a peak of 92 cases per day was reached on March 26, during the first wave. The total of cases now increases to 3,057 with a jump of 381 from Monday to today. The numbers were released during the press conference of the Umbria region to take stock of the Covid-19 emergency. Commissioner Onnis: “A fact that alarms us in a particular way.”
THE SECOND WAVE EXCEEDS THE FIRST
Another 5 hospitalizations The current positives thus exceed one thousand (1,005) also due to the 14 recovered (which brings the total to 1,965). There are also 5 new patients (from 58 to 63) but the patients in intensive care remain unchanged: 8 of which 4 in Perugia and 4 in Terni). 942 positive individuals are in predetermined isolation, while another 2,112 (non-positive) individuals are in fiduciary isolation.
Concerns What worries the Region, in the Onnis list, is mainly the Rt (virus transmissibility index) stably higher than one, the substantial doubling of cases in one week (+ 95%), a stable hospitalization rate of 5.4 % (hospitalizations in Covid wards increase in direct proportion to the increase in positives), new cases not related to groups already known, increase in the average age of those infected, difficulties in contact tracing Intensive care still has a level low filling, but attention is high.
School: 33 classes in quarantine With regard to the school world, there are currently 33 isolated classes in Umbria for a total of 848 people; of these, 18 have completed their quarantine (417 people). “I think the level of perception of danger by the population has been significantly reduced – said Onnis -; we are in an extremely delicate phase, and this perception has failed ”.
