In Tuscany there are 12,080 cases of coronavirus positivity, 113 more than yesterday (28 identified in the course of screening and 85 from detection activities). New cases are 0.9% more than the total of the previous day. The average age of 113 cases today is approximately 38 years (27% are under 26, 29% between 26 and 40, 38% between 41 and 65, 6% are over 65) and, in terms of the clinical states, 68% were asymptomatic, 23% pauci-symptomatic.
Of the 113 positives currently, 10 cases can be linked to returns from abroad. 4 cases can be linked to returns from Sardinia. 3 cases referring to citizens residing outside the region, identified thanks to the controls activated in ports and stations with ordinance n. 80 of the Tuscany Region. 46% of the cases is a contact linked to a previous case.
Those cured grew by 0.2% and reached 9,206 (76.2% of all cases). The swabs performed reached 560,036, 7,960 more than yesterday. The current positives are 1,731 today, + 5.8% compared to yesterday. Today there is 1 new death: an 84-year-old man in Florence.
These are the data – verified today at 12 o’clock based on requests from the National Civil Protection – referring to the advance of the epidemic in the region. It should be remembered that as of June 24, 2020, the Ministry of Health has modified the data collection system on the spread of Covid-19. Positive cases are no longer indicated by province of notification, but by province of residence or domicile.
The following are the cases of positivity in the area with the change compared to yesterday. There are 3,720 cases in total to date in Florence (12 more than yesterday), 641 in Prato (6 more), 849 in Pistoia (14 more), 1,264 in Massa (19 more), 1,551 in Lucca (13 more), 1,083 in Pisa (11 more), 570 in Livorno (11 more), 866 in Arezzo (12 more), 517 in Siena (2 more), 499 in Grosseto (10 more). 520 positive cases were reported in Tuscany, but residing in other regions (3 more). There are 32, therefore, the cases found today in the ASL Center, 54 in the Northwest, 24 in the Southeast.
Tuscany is confirmed in tenth place in Italy in terms of the number of cases (including residents and non-residents), with around 324 cases per 100,000 inhabitants (Italian average around 450 x 100,000, yesterday’s figure). The notification provinces with the highest rate are Massa Carrara with 649 cases x 100,000 inhabitants, Lucca with 400, Florence with 368, Livorno with 170 the lowest.
In total, 1,661 people are isolated at home, as they have mild symptoms that do not require hospital care or do not have symptoms (91 more than yesterday, 5.8% more). There are 4,119 (147 more than yesterday, plus 3.7%) people, also isolated, under active surveillance, for having had contact with infected people (Asl Centro 1,746, Northwest 1,548, Southeast 825).
The people hospitalized in the beds dedicated to Covid patients today are a total of 70 (4 more than yesterday, plus 6.1%), 7 in intensive care (1 less than yesterday, minus 12.5%).
The total number of cured people is 9,206 (17 more than yesterday, plus 0.2%): 178 clinically cured people (8 more than yesterday, plus 4.7%), that is, they became asymptomatic after presenting clinical manifestations associated with Infection and 9,028 (9 more than yesterday, plus 0.1%) declared cured in all aspects, the so-called viral cures, with double negative swab.
Today there is 1 new death: an 84-year-old man. Regarding the province of notification, the deceased person is in Florence. 1,143 have died since the beginning of the epidemic as follows: 418 in Florence, 52 in Prato, 81 in Pistoia, 175 in Massa Carrara, 147 in Lucca, 91 in Pisa, 63 in Livorno, 50 in Arezzo, 33 in Siena , 25 in Grosseto, 8 people died on Tuscan soil but they were residents outside the region.
Tuscany’s crude death rate (number of deaths / resident population) for Covid-19 is 30.6 x 100,000 residents versus 58.8 x 100,000 for the Italian average (11th region). Regarding the provinces, the highest mortality rate is found in Massa Carrara (89.8 x 100 000), Florence (41.3 x 100 000) and Lucca (37.9 x 100 000), the lowest in Grosseto (11.3 x 100,000).
