am 10,630 new cases of coronavirus in Italy (yesterday they were +7,970, here the bulletin). Come out so at least 2,655,319 the number of people who have contracted the SARS-CoV-2 virus (including those recovered and killed) since the outbreak began. THE deaths today am 422 (yesterday they were +307), for a total of 92,002 victims as of February 2020. While people retrieved or downloaded am 2,149,350 overall (more than 2 million as of January 31): 15,827 those who came out of the Covid nightmare today (+15,082 yesterday). I KNOW positive current – subjects who have the virus – happen to be in everything 413,967, equal to -5,637 compared to yesterday (-7,420 the day before). There decrease in current positives – with the minus sign in front – generated by the fact that the cured, added to the deaths, are in greater numbers than in the new cases. This decline has occurred continuously since January 25.
I total swabs (molecular and antigenic) were 274,263, or 129,993 more than yesterday when it was 144,270. While the positivity rate 3.9% (the approximation of 3.78%): means that out of 100 swabs performed, more than 3 were positive; yesterday it was 5.5%.
As of January 15 this percentage of cases / swabs calculated also counting rapid tests, therefore lower than that of the bulletins prior to January 15 and it is not possible to make comparisons with the history. Here is the map of contagion in Italy.
More infections in 24 hours than yesterday, compared to more tampons. It happens every Tuesday, due to the increase in processed analyzes. The tampon case report. drops to 3.9% (always falls with more tests) since yesterday 5.5%. From the comparison with last Tuesday, February 2, when the cases were +9,660 with a rate of 3.9% (then for the first time below 4%), we see that the scenario does not change much. In fact, the rate is the same as last Tuesday.. In contrast, a reduction in new infections is observed in the weekly data: -3% those infected in the period from February 1 to 7, according to the calculations of the physicist and scientific communicator Giorgio Sestili, it is equivalent to about 85 thousand cases with 1.7 million swabs per week (including tests in a stable number). The curve stops for the third consecutive week, Sestili explains, beyond the fluctuations. And he adds: The daily data tells us little at this time – Sestili comments to Messenger Service – because the experience of virus sequencing from other countries shows us that where the numbers are improving, new variants continue to grow and spread, as shown by a study by the Statens Serum Institut in Copenhagen. The only way we have to counter the epidemic is to speed up sequencing.
The most affected region for new infected, it’s there again Lombardy (+1,625) with 29,000 swabs – yesterday the state of Emilia-Romagna and on Sunday Campania -, followed by Campania (+1,274). All other regions have a double or triple digit increase. Have done the most tests Veneto – more than 34 thousand – which made it possible to find 701 daily cases.
The victims
The victims increase in 24 hours: they are 422, that is, 115 more than yesterday (they were 499 last Tuesday). A budget that is still dramatically high. The decrease for Sunday and Monday may have been caused by incomplete data. But in the weekly distance there is a decrease in deaths: according to Sestili’s calculations the death curve marks -10% in the last week (February 1-7) in the previous one. No region has zero deaths today for the fourth day in a row – not good news – while the highest number of deaths in Veneto (+65), Lombardy (+55), Emilia romagna (+45) my Apulia (+41) Having more than 30 deaths are: Piedmont (+35) my Lazio (+33).
The health system
Ordinary hospitalizations decrease and the total number of beds occupied in intensive care remains unchanged. Occupied beds in the ordinary rooms of Covid am -fifteen (yesterday +261), for a total of 19,512 hospitalized. I beds occupied in intensive care (ICU) am no change since yesterday (+36 the day before), bringing the total of more seriously ill a 2,143. The fact that the balance between the patients who entered and left the ICU in the last 24 hours is zero does not mean that no one has entered the room. Indeed, I new entrants in IT am +146 (+139 yesterday), consequently, 146 patients left the TI – the zero variation as we said before – as improved or deceased. The highest number of people in intensive care in Lombardy (+27) and Puglia (+25).
I vaccinated citizens am more than 2.6 million those who received the first dose: here the map is updated every night and here the real-time data from the Covid-19 vaccine report on the government website.
