A compact mirrorless camera is enough, you don’t necessarily need an SLR. For Prime Day, a smaller, lighter and cheaper version of the Fujifilm X-T2 is discounted, a model recommended in the past by a publisher of the Send Photography expert: this is the Fujifilm X-T200, which unlike the X-T2 also has a touch screen.
