It took ’30 seconds ‘for Washington’s new team chairman to learn about the Redwolves’ move


The world learned that Jason Wright would be the new president of the Washington Football Team on Monday morning, giving him full control over business operations and reporting directly to team owner Dan Snyder.

Almost immediately after the announcement, Wright found out all about the Redwolves movement on social media.

“Within 30 seconds of being announced, my Twitter page blew me up with Redwolves propaganda,” Wright said Monday via the Discussion by Washington Football Team podcast.

Redwolves is probably the most popular new name suggested for the Washington Football Team after the club retired this month. For nearly 90 years, Washington played as the Redskins, but after years of controversy over the name and requests from business sponsors for a change, owner Dan Snyder told it and withdrew it.

For the 2020 season, the club will simply be called the Washington Football Team, but next year and beyond what the team name will be is one of the biggest debates in DC For many fans, especially young fans on social media, Redwolves is the best possible name.

“This is a very aggressive campaign around Redwolves, which is wonderful. The passion is fantastic,” Wright said. “You have fans who are so busy here and we will absolutely take advantage of this.”

Wright explained how exciting it is to see fans excited about a new name, but that will inevitably lead to some frustrations.

“I love it. I love it. Every time we can piss a few people, I have no idea, but my idea is that if we do it right, everyone will understand how the process went. They will see their input. have in some aspects of the new identity. ”
