According to the Times, Israel will enter the second COVID-19 lockdown.

Officials on Thursday decided to implement a strict two-week ban, starting next week, per Bloomberg. After that, strict limits will be set for another two weeks for daily activities. Other countries have taken partial security measures following the increase in cases, but according to the Times, Israel is the first to implement a strict, second nationwide lockdown during the epidemic.

The move comes as Israel seeks a resurgence in coronavirus cases. Israel came out of its first shutdown in May, at a time when the total number of cases was about 17,000. The lockdown has helped curb the spread of the disease in the country, but since the resumption of what some say was the case, the number of cases has risen to 1,14,000. Some new daily levels have sat around 4,000, and 1,100 deaths have been reported in the nation.

Citizens criticized the reaction of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the government in the nation, with many taking part in protests to improve economic aid.
