A growing number of White House employees and high-level Republicans have tested positive for Covid-19 since US President Donald Trump revealed last week that he had contracted the respiratory disease.
The infections disrupted the campaign for the November 3 presidential election, shook financial markets and slowed down the work of Congress, and the Senate promised to delay any vote now that three members of the Republican majority tested positive.
Several people who met with Trump last week said they have since tested negative, but it can take days for someone who has been exposed to the virus to develop symptoms or test positive.
The following is a list of people close to Trump who have tested positive for the virus in recent days:
Melania Trump
Donald Trump, who had run a busy week of events that began with his Supreme Court nominee presenting on Sept. 26 in a packed ceremony at the White House, said Friday that he and his wife, Melania, had positive.
Jalen Drummond
Deputy Press Secretary Jalen Drummond tested positive for COVID-19, according to a Bloomberg News report.
One of the deputy press secretary Kayleigh McEnany, Mr. Drummond was in attendance at the Rose Garden on September 26 for a ceremony for Supreme Court nominee Amy Coney Barrett.

The White House press secretary said in a statement Monday that she tested positive, adding that she has no symptoms.
Admiral Ray Charles
The Vice Commander of the US Coast Guard, Admiral Charles Ray, tested positive for the virus on Monday, the Pentagon said yesterday.
He said top US military leaders, including Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Mark Milley, are being quarantined after Admiral Ray attended a meeting last week with the heads of service. Senior military officials have so far tested negative, the Pentagon said.
Jayna McCarron
Jayna McCarron, one of the president’s military aides, has coronavirus, Bloomberg News reported yesterday.
A valet
One of the president’s valets, who is also an active duty military man and traveled with the president last week, also tested positive, according to Bloomberg News.
Chad gilmartin
White House press office staff member Chad Gilmartin tested positive over the weekend, according to a source.
Caroline leavitt
Karoline Leavitt, a White House communications assistant, tested positive for Covid-19, according to a source.
Hope hicks
Hope Hicks, a close adviser to the president who often traveled with him on presidential planes Air Force One and Marine One, tested positive Thursday.
Ronna McDaniel
Republican National Committee Chair Ronna McDaniel, who has had frequent contact with Trump, said Friday that she tested positive for the virus and was quarantined at her home in Michigan.
Senator Ron Johnson
Ron Johnson, who heads the Senate Committee on Government Affairs and National Security, tested positive for Covid-19 on Friday, a spokesman said Saturday.
Senator Thom Tillis
Senator Thom Tillis tested positive for the coronavirus, he said in a statement Friday.
A member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, his positive results come after he attended a meeting in the Oval Office with Supreme Court candidate Barrett.
Senator Mike Lee
Mike Lee, another Senator on the Judiciary Committee, also said he tested positive on Friday.
He was present at the Oval Office meeting on September 26.
Bill stepien
Sir Trump’s campaign manager, Bill Stepien, also tested positive for Covid-19 on Friday and will work from home, according to a senior campaign official.
Governor Chris Christie
Former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie said Saturday that he was being admitted to a hospital as a precautionary measure after testing positive for coronavirus.
Kellyanne conway
Kellyanne Conway, a former Trump adviser, said in a post on Twitter that she had tested positive for Covid-19 on Friday.

University of Notre Dame President John Jenkins, who also attended the White House ceremony, said Friday that he had tested positive.

Trump’s aide Nicholas Luna, a “body man” who accompanies the president day and night, tested positive, according to a source familiar with the situation.
Stephen Miller
Top White House aide Stephen Miller confirmed yesterday that he had tested positive for Covid-19 and was in quarantine.
