Ireland weather: wet and wild conditions will affect certain areas when Met Eireann issues a five-day forecast

Ireland has faced rocky weather for the past week, with jets of snow, rain and wind whipping the country.

Over the weekend alone, orange and yellow wind advisories were issued in almost every county.

However, next week it looks like it could calm down, with the promise of ‘generally mild’ weather.

The strong cold could remain in some places with scattered rain during the week.

However, there is good news for those who are fed up with the cold, as no snow is expected next week.

Monday

On Monday, scattered outbreaks of rain will gradually clear to the northeast with drier and brighter conditions to follow.

There is a risk of some isolated showers, with maximum temperatures of 9 to 12 degrees and moderate to cool southerly winds.

At sunset, the southerly winds will strengthen once more and the rain will move to the southwest after dark.

Stormy rains are expected overnight, with a low of 5 to 8 degrees.

Tuesday

Tuesday brings a combination of clouds and sun with widespread rains across the country.

The highest temperatures will range between 8 and 11 degrees, with moderate to cool winds from the southwest.

Another swath of rain will cross the country from the southwest on Tuesday night, with a low of 3 to 6 degrees.

The rain will clear up Thursday morning, ushering in a mostly dry day with spells of sunshine.

There will be scattered showers throughout the day, with clouds bringing heavy rains at dusk.

Again, there will be highs of 7 to 9 degrees with a moderate breeze from the south.

Thursday night is expected to be quite windy and wet, with rain spreading to all areas, heavy in the southwest.
