This is the heroic young Dubliner and her dog who saved a woman’s life while being repeatedly shot in the head with a pellet pistol and pistol-shot in a shocking assault in the city center.

It was understood that the victim of the attack, a mother of four children in her early 20s, was attacked by an armed man and woman on Capel Street before 12 p.m. Friday morning.

Dublin Live understands the woman had her hair pulled and allegedly repeatedly kicked in the face as she lay on the ground after the gruesome shooting.

Fortunately, the 21-year-old and her Pitbull Myah were in the area and she and her defensive dog rushed to protect the mother from the attackers.

The dog’s owner told Dublin Live that he heard gunshots while walking with Myah and immediately thought he was witnessing “a murder in real life.”

She said: “To be honest I’ll never forget. I was walking along the docks and when I got to the top of Capel Street, I heard a bang and saw a person pointing a gun.

“I didn’t know it was a pellet gun at the time, as the bangs sounded like a real gun.
