The defendant had been in an open prison in the UK serving the remainder of a sentence for aggravated burglary with burglary, but fled in 2016 and has since been illegally at large and living in Ireland.
“This man pleaded guilty and provided some level of cooperation. They arrested him and, indeed, caught him red-handed. It suggests that you were fully involved in the sale or supply of drugs.
“He had 34,000 euros in grass and 13,600 euros in money. He admitted that the money was the proceeds of crime.
“The drugs were hidden in the house to some extent.

Boyle said that the defendant’s wife and two children live in Dubai and that he has a degree in Information Technology from Leicester and good experience.
Garda Buckley said the defendant was the sole occupant of a car traveling through the Willowbank area of Fairhill in Cork after 7pm on the date in question.
Gardaí approached the defendant who gave him his name and address on The Avenue in Pembroke Woods on Passage West. There was a smell of cannabis coming from the car.
“During the search, I found a backpack with cannabis in separate delivery bags. I arrested him for having drugs for sale or supply. I warned him. He fled, but after a short distance he was stopped, ”said Garda Buckley.
