The Late Late Show viewers confused by the ‘weird’ interview with Enda Kenny

Viewers of the Late Late Show were confused by the “strange” introduction to tonight’s interview with politician Enda Kenny.

The former Taoiseach was the first guest invited to chat with host Ryan Tubridy.

However, before Kenny’s interview was shown, there was an introduction and VT for much-loved Line of Duty actor Adrian Dunbar.

The Fermanagh man interview was perfect, but then the show returned to the studio where Enda started talking to Ryan.

As expected, fans of the show wondered what happened and why Enda appeared after an introduction to Ireland and Britain’s favorite television cop.

On Twitter, one person asked if it was a continuity issue on the show: “Was it just me or did it look like #thelatelateshow they were about to introduce Adrian Dunbar before announcing Enda Kenny? It was almost like a continuity error.”

Another then wondered, “Why did we Segway from Adrian Dunbar to Enda Kenny? Is any of this live tonight? #Latelate.”

A third said: “The #LateLateShow just leaked that Enda Kenny will be joining # LINEOFDUTY6 ???”

And a fourth joked: “We went from clips of Ted Hastings to Enda Kenny. Am I drunk or did I miss a link between a legend and Enda? #Thelatelateshow.”

Other RTÉ viewers suggested that Enda should join the Line of Duty cast, while others noted how similar he looked to Adrian Dunbar.

One fan said: “@RTELateLateShow very confused start guys. Great intro for Adrian Dunbar and then dad dad dad. Enda Kenny ??????”

One second said, “So after that huge lead with all the Adrian Dunbar clips from Line of Duty, it’s ……….. Enda Kenny ???? Open-mouthed face . Strange production of RTE edition. “

Another added: “Adrian Dunbar is such an amazing actor that he makes the best impression of Enda Kenny #LateLate.”

A fourth laughed: “Enda Kenny or Adrian Dunbar, I can’t really tell? Is it just me?”

Another went on to say, “Well that was a weird way of leading up to Enda Kenny’s appearance, he will spend his retirement hunting bent cops. Rolling on the ground laughing.”

The Late Late Show airs Friday night on RTÉ One.
