Introducing Genkey: ShadowCost, the “easy way” to connect your switch to a laptop

Genkey: Human Things has launched a new kickstarter campaign for a device called Shadowcast and it’s already well underway and has really broken its goal of 30,000.

In just a few hours, the team has already received promises of over 300 300,000 and the device is priced at 39 39.

So, what makes this device so great? It provides an “easy way” to play console games on your computer and laptop devices, and it does so without the need for an internet connection or television. It has 4K HDMI input and USB Type-C output, and is compatible with Switch, PS5 and XSX.

Note: HDMI 2.0 input brings 4K video from the latest game consoles including Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4/5 and Xbox Series S / X

Transfer USB-C output to computer at 1920×1080 @ 30fps and 1280×720 @ 60fps

With ShadowCast is a new Genkey Arcade app – making it easy to find ShadowCast from whatever device you’re running. It is built from the ground-up to “minimize computing resources and prioritize latency.”

Human objects provide additional function details (essentially more affordable capture cards):

“The beauty of being able to connect your gaming console to your computer means that you can actually record, edit, and stream your gameplay. It costs more, though it’s more flexible and easier to use in many playplaces, more than capable of taking into account the needs of most gameplay. “
