The photo of the sign ‘Nahdhatul Ulama Ranting Petamburan’ was circulating on social media and was in the spotlight, one of which was due to incorrect handwriting. The signage will soon be replaced.

The first photo circulating shows two people holding a secretary’s sign that reads “Nahdhatul Ulama ranting Petamburan.” There is a UN logo on the sign, while underneath it says ‘Musollah Al Muqobalah’.

DKI Jakarta PWNU President Syamsul Ma’arif confirmed that the poster was made by the NU Petamburan branch manager. However, Syamsul said, there was a mistake in writing Nahdlatul as Nahdhatul.

“The branch manager was very excited about creating a nameplate. So this is the original nameplate made by the branch manager,” Syamsul said when contacted on Friday (1/29/2021).

detikcom visited the location of the signpost at Jalan Petamburan II, in central Jakarta. As it turned out, the sign was still misspelled ‘Nahdhatul Ulama’.

Rais Syuriah NU Petamburan Branch Muhammad Urif Anwar then gave an explanation. He spoke about the start of the signage installation and the repair plan.

Apparently, the poster was installed on January 28, 2021. It is an initiative of the new board that was inaugurated since last August 2020. Due to the support of senior management, the NU leadership Ranting Petamburan has become more active. They have made management changes since August last year.
