PRECISION JOURNAL – Former 10th and 12th Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia, Jusuf Kalla, called on Indonesian democracy not to return to street democracy.

This is revealed by Habib Rizieq’s series of events as an indicator to continue improving the system in the current Indonesian democracy, which according to him, hundreds of thousands of people do not believe in the DPR and the parties.

“This is an indicator that there is a process that needs to be improved in our democratic system. Why don’t hundreds of thousands of people trust the DPR to speak up? Why don’t they trust the parties, especially the Islamic parties, to represent the people? Why did people choose Habib Rizieq to express their aspirations? That is an important question that we must assess from the beginning, “Jusuf Kalla quoted PKSTV, said at the national welcome webinar to the PKS-V National Conference entitled ‘Civil Society Participation in Building a Healthy Democracy’ on Friday, November 20, 2020.

Then, JK asked Indonesia in the future not to return to street democracy because its representatives did not pay attention to the aspirations of the people.

“That there is a gap in the system or our form of democracy, especially in Islamic ideology, which was then filled by Habib Rizieq,” JK said.

“We are talking about the failure of guided democracy, the failure of Pancasila democracy, let’s not return to street democracy. This can come back if the elected deputies do not pay attention to aspirations like that, ”he said.
