JAKARTRA, KOMPAS.com – The General Directorate of State Assets (DJKN) of the Ministry of Finance (Kemenkeu) said that Bambang Trihatmodjo was still prevented from traveling abroad because his debt to the state had not been paid, related to the 1997 SEA Games.

According to him, he will continue the process ordered in the State Administrative Court (PTUN) because the son of former president Soeharto filed a lawsuit against the Minister of Finance (Menkeu).

He explained that Bambang Trihatmodjo’s lawyer had also written to Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati, but directed it to the Committee on State Accounts Receivable Affairs (PUPN).

On that occasion, Isa refused to provide details of the debt that must be paid to the state because it is information that is exempt from disclosure of public information.

“Do not ask me how much the debt is, how much has been paid is included in the accounts receivable profile and that includes information that is excluded in the context of public information disclosure,” he added.

Isa said his party will block debtors who still have debts with the state. Instead of banning them, the Finance Ministry asked these people to return to Indonesia to pay off their debts.

Bambang Trihatmodjo sued Sri Mulyani

Earlier, Bambang Trihatmodjo sued Finance Minister Sri Mulyani because he was related to banning it abroad.

Not accepting, Bambang filed a lawsuit against the State Administrative Court in relation to the Decree of the Minister of Finance Number 108 / KM.6 / 2020 dated May 27, 2020 regarding the Stipulation of the Extension of the Prevention of Traveling Outside of the Republic of Indonesia against Mr. Bambang Trihatmodjo to administer the receivables of the state.

As Minister of Finance, Sri Mulyani acted as Chairman of the State Accounts Receivable Committee Team. Bambang’s debt to the state is actually a debt transferred from the Secretary of State (Setneg) to the Ministry of Finance.

Bambang Trihatmodjo’s debt stems from the holding of the XIX SEA Games in 1997. Bambang Trihatmodjo at that time was the head of a private consortium appointed by the government to organize an ASEAN interstate sporting event in Jakarta.

Meanwhile, the secretary of the Ministry of the Secretary of State, Setya Utama, explained that at that time the private consortium apparently lacked funds, so it had to be covered by the government.

Satya himself did not explain how much debt the Cendana family members must pay from the state treasury.

“The consortium is tasked with providing funds for the maintenance of the SEA Games XIX in 1997. During its maintenance, the consortium experienced a shortage of funds and the country granted loans that eventually became debt of the consortium with the country (accounts for charge nationals) “, explained Setya in his official statement.

Regarding the accounts receivable problem, the Ministry of State Affairs has made efforts to return the state money to Bambang Trihatmodjo.

These efforts included a series of coordination meetings attended by representatives of the Ministry of State Affairs, the General Secretariat of the Ministry of LHK, DJKN of the Ministry of Finance, the Presidential Secretariat, and KMP SEA Games XIX 1997.

In these meetings it was agreed that the aforementioned accounts receivable settlement issues would be delegated to the Ministry of Finance, mainly related to the delivery of the State’s accounts receivable management and technical implementation.

“Now the liquidation of the state accounts receivable is in process at the Ministry of Finance until the accounts receivable are declared paid or completed in accordance with the provisions of current laws and regulations,” Setya said.
