Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – The owner and CEO of PT Hanson International Tbk (MYRX) Benny Tjokrosaputro who was the defendant in the alleged mega-corruption case of PT Asuransi Jiwasraya (Persero) Benny Tjokrosaputro was not present at the hearing of the accusation. The reason is that the Adhyaksa Hospital doctor, Siswo P. Santoso, tested positive for Covid-19.
“Benny Tjokrosaputro has been in the hospital since yesterday the 23rd, escorted by the prosecutor. He is currently isolated and has not come out. Because it has been confirmed positive for Covid-19,” Siswo said in a judicial meeting when asked by the judge on Thursday of the Jakarta Central District Court, Rosmina (24/9).
Siswo was deliberately introduced by the panel of judges to provide an overview of Bentjok’s current state of health. The reason is that Benny has not provided an official certificate.
As conditions were said to be impossible, Rosmina decided not to involve Benjtok in this meeting.
“According to his explanation in the hospital, he is exposed to the covid virus and is being isolated. We do not dare to accept it. Benny, please resign to leave the room,” Rosmina said.
Therefore, Benny did not continue the trial. The legal team was also invited to withdraw.
Not only that, PT Trada Alam Minera (TRAM) President Commissioner Heru Hidayat also tested positive for Covid-19, but his statement was delivered directly to the Panel of Judges by a lawyer. Because of this, the doctors were not present at the trial.
However, the trial continued to read the claims of Joko Hartono Tirto.
