There is a COVID-19 (Corona) test that is cheaper than the rapid test and the swab test. The test uses a tool called GeNose, which detects Corona through exhalation.
According to the Minister of Research and Technology / Head of the National Research Agency (Menristek / BRIN) Bambang Brodjonegoro, a single Corona test with this tool only costs IDR 15 thousand.
“The estimate for inspection, if calculated by the operator, electricity and plastic is Rp. 7,000-Rp. 8,000, the estimate for a test is around Rp. 15 thousand. So this is cheap and accurate”, Bambang explained in a webinar on Friday (12/11/2020).
Meanwhile, the price of the equipment is IDR 60 million / unit and it can be used for 100,000 COVID-19 tests. If you have exceeded the maximum limit, the tool can be repaired and used again.
“The estimated price, if a unit of equipment is around Rs 60 million, but it can be used for 100,000 inspections, then it can be fixed again and it can be used again,” Bambang said.
