A video showing the queue of several ambulances in front of Wisma Atlet Hospital went viral on social media. Wisma Atlet explained that the ER check-in queue was for patients with mild to moderate symptoms.

The Operational Coordinator of Wisma Atlet Hospital, Colonel Dr. Stefanus Dony, explained that the queue occurred last night before 9:00 p.m. WIB in front of Towers 5, 6 and 7. He said that the queue was a common occurrence.

“It’s a common thing to queue to get into the ER and it happens for a moment, it’s full before 9:00 PM WIB,” Stefanus said when confirmed, on Tuesday (9/15/2020).

Stefanus said the queue was a separate isolation patient registry in tower 5. Additionally, patients with mild to moderate symptoms were also queuing at that time to enter RSDC towers 6 and 7.

“At this time, there is separate isolation for tower 5 and patients with mild to moderate symptoms in RSDC towers 6 and 7,” he said.

Stefanus confirmed that the queue was not due to the full RSD Wisma Atlet. He said it was because the patients were arriving at the same time.

“Not because it was full, there were still a lot of places, he just joined, so it was necessary to queue,” Stefanus said.

According to the circulating video, several ambulances were seen lining up in front of Wisma Atlet Hospital. The queuing ambulances were attended from various districts and health centers. All the ambulances lined up also seemed to turn on the sirens.
