jpnn.com, JAKARTA – Evidence of a revolver-type firearm allegedly used by supporters of the Islamic Defenders Front (FPI) high priest Rizieq Shihab during a shootout with the police will be investigated.

“Those with senpi from where. It will be investigated further later,” the head of the Police Public Relations Division, Brigadier General Awi Setiyono, said in Jakarta on Monday.

The Jakarta-Cikampek toll road shooting incident occurred when the car of a member of the Polda Metro Jaya was detained and shot, then the authorities responded, resulting in the death of six special FPI paramilitaries guarding Rizieq.

“They carried out the shooting and our members responded in the field and took measured action,” he said.

At the time, the police were investigating information circulating on social media about the mass mobilization to guard the summons of Rizieq Shihab at Polda Metro Jaya on Monday.

The police who carried out the surveillance claimed that they were attacked and assaulted by the FPI special forces.

They were finally treated firmly by the authorities, because it was considered that they endangered the safety of their lives.

Meanwhile, the other four perpetrators fled and continued to be pursued by the police.
