According to the information obtained, the incident occurred at the Sahid Bela Hotel in Ternate City, North Maluku, on Thursday (05/14/2020) around 12.20 CET.

The patients who attempted to escape by leaving the quarantine site consisted of 10 crown-positive patients and several PDPs.

“Regarding the status of these patients, the patient mix confirmed positive for Covid-19 and several patients under surveillance (PDP),” the head of the North Maluku Province Office of Public Relations and Communication Protocol said Thursday. from North Maluku Mulyadi Tutupoho through an instant messaging application.

According to him, the reason they fled was because they felt bored and had no income for their families while they were in quarantine.

Although the location of the quarantine has been guarded by a number of police personnel, but because they do not wear personal protective equipment (PPE), the officers do not dare to approach and only try to get away from the distance.

As a result of these conditions, traffic along the road in front of the hotel is jammed due to the vigilance of the residents.

Until then, not long ago, several officers with full PPE arrived at the scene and managed to persuade them to re-enter the hotel.

According to data from the North Maluku Covid-19 Task Force for Management, up to 64 patients were quarantined at the Hotel Sahid Bela in Ternate.

They consisted of 25 Covid-19 positive patients, 19 asymptomatic people (OTG), six people on monitoring (ODP), five patients on surveillance (PDP) and nine travelers.
