KOMPAS.com – The government announced 4,432 additional confirmed positive cases of Covid-19 on Thursday (10/22/2020). Therefore, the total number of positive cases in Indonesia is now 377,541 cases.

Meanwhile, the number of victims who died also increased by 102 people. So the total number of victims who died due to Covid-19 has now become 12,959 people.

In addition, the number of patients who were declared cured also increased, after 3,497 additional people were declared cured. Therefore, the total number of recovered patients is now 301,006 people.

On the other hand, based on data from covid19.go.id, Every Sunday (10/18/2020), the government designated 32 districts / cities in 16 provinces as red zones or high risk areas.

This number has decreased, compared to the total of 53 regions with red zone status as reported Kompas.com, Wednesday (10/14/2020).

There are several indicators that are used to calculate the status of the Covid-19 risk zone in Indonesia, namely: epidemiology, public health surveillance, and health services.

Epidemiological indicators

  • The decrease in the number of positive cases in the last week was more than 50 percent from the peak
  • The drop in the number of ODP and PDP cases in the last week was more than 50 percent from the peak
  • The drop in the number of deaths from positive cases in the last week was more than 50 percent from the peak
  • The drop in the number of deaths from ODP and PDP in the last week was more than 50 percent from the peak
  • The decrease in the number of positive cases hospitalized in the last week was more than 50 percent from the peak
  • The decrease in the number of hospitalized ODP and PDP cases in the last week was more than 50 percent from the peak
  • The cumulative percentage of cases recovered from all positive cases
  • Increase in the number of full follow-up of ODP and PDP cases during the last 2 weeks
  • Incidence rate of positive cases per 100,000 inhabitants
  • Mortality rate of positive cases per 100,000 inhabitants

Public health surveillance indicators

  • The number of diagnostic specimens examined increased in the past 2 weeks.
  • Low positivity rate (goal of less than 5 percent positive samples from all people tested)

Health services indicators

  • The number of beds in the referral hospital’s isolation ward can house up to less than 20 percent of the number of hospitalized Covid-19 positive patients.
  • The number of beds in the referral hospital can accommodate up to less than the number of ODP, PDP, and Covid-19 positive patients being treated at the hospital.

This means that the risk zone in each of them can change at any time depending on the conditions of spread of the corona virus pandemic.
