KOMPAS.com – A woman with the initials AM (26), a resident of Pajar Bulan Village, Pajar Bulan district, Lahat Regency, South Sumatra, was found dead after being raped by five men.

The unfortunate event happened on August 17, 2020 at the edge of the Betung River, Talang Tangsi Village, the local area.

After an investigation, the police have successfully secured three of the five perpetrators.

They are fish hunters named Tanhar (43), Mirzal Hadi (31) and Fikri (23).

One of the perpetrators of the rape, Tanhar, admitted that he had committed lewd acts together with his four colleagues.

He was told that when the incident occurred, he and his friend were downstream looking for fish.

However, he accidentally saw the victim lying on a rock on the river bank, unconscious or unconscious.

Because they saw the minimal clothing that was being worn at the time, they were finally able to see the beauty of the victim’s body.

In that instant, bad intentions arose and he raped her in turn.

“We saw the victim lying down. And we saw that her underwear had slipped down her legs. Then we took turns raping her,” he said.

After emitting his lewd lust, he and his friends fled leaving the victim on the scene.

However, this man who is already married admits that he regrets his actions.

“I just took my steps to see that the victim was lying on the river bank. I’m sorry sir. I do have a wife and children,” he said.

The case unfolds

Kapolres Lahat AKBP Achmad Gusti Hartono said that after being raped by the perpetrators, local residents found the victim’s body.

Residents were shocked by the discovery of the victim’s body and later reported it to the police.

Upon receiving the report, his group immediately processed the scene of the case and evacuated the victim to Lahat Regional Hospital for an autopsy.

From that examination it was found that there were irregularities in the death of the victim. This is because there were head injuries and sexual violence.

His party immediately carried out the development of the investigation. Until he finally arrested the perpetrators.

From the results of the investigation, the perpetrators admitted their actions.

The incident began when perpetrators searching for fish accidentally discovered that the victim had passed out by the river.

“The five perpetrators initially saw the victim faint by the river. Because at that time the victim’s clothing was minimal, the perpetrators ended up taking turns raping the victim,” Gusti said when confirmed by phone on Saturday.

The police chief said that after making his lewd lust known, the perpetrator admitted that the victim was still unconscious.

By the perpetrators, to later be returned to relocation. That is, lying on the bank of the river.

However, when he was about to be euthanized, the body of the victim fell and hit his head with a stone until it was suspected that he was the cause of death.

“Out of fear, this perpetrator left the victim until finally AM was found dead by the residents,” he said.

Meanwhile, when asked about the victim’s whereabouts there, Gusti explained, allegedly due to depression after separating from her husband.

Because according to the testimony of his family, the victim has not returned home for several days.

As a result of these events, the perpetrators will be charged under article 338 of the Penal Code for murder with threat of life.
