The Nigerian government of President Muhammadu Buhari protested fiercely around the world in the wake of the brutal shooting at the demonstration in the capital Lagos.
Manchester United striker Odion Ighalo (31) also protested the repressive actions of the Nigerian government.
Over the past two weeks, Nigeria has witnessed demonstrations against the brutality of one of the police units, the Special Anti-Theft Squad (SARS).
Various parties accused SARS of extortion, harassment, torture and murder.
In fact, the unit disbanded on October 11, but the wave of protests continued. More recently, several soldiers brutally opened fire on protesters in the Lekki district, the capital of Lagos, Nigeria, on Tuesday (10/20).

“The Nigerian government is a disgrace in the eyes of the world for killing its own citizens. Send military forces to the streets to kill unarmed protesters because they demand their own rights? That is inappropriate, ”Ighalo said in a video uploaded to Twitter after the 2-1 victory over PSG.
“You will be remembered in history as the first government to send military personnel to the city to begin killing its own citizens. I am ashamed of this government, we are bored with you and we can no longer accept this, ”said the 31-year-old.
“They will continue to kill if the world does not question this,” he added.
Unbridled protests on social media with the hashtag #EndSARS have also received support from celebrities and corporate leaders around the world. From R&B singer Rihanna to Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey.
Ighalo has only appeared three times this season with Man United in all competitions, once from the bench in the English Premier League and twice in the Premier League Cup.
