Paul Pogba’s goal against West Ham United was sued because the ball was thought to have already left the field. The Manchester United midfielder raised his voice.
Pogba scored MU’s first goal during the 3-1 win over West Ham on Saturday (6/12/2020) yesterday. The goal tied the score after Toma Soucek stormed the Red Devils.
Mason Greenwood and Marcus Rashford secure MU victory. But the controversy arose after the game ended.
Paul Pogba’s goal is believed to be illegitimate because Dean Henderson’s bait to Bruno Fernandes is believed to have come out first. The ball left the field and returned to enter, until Fernandes received it and passed to Pogba.
This incident escaped the scrutiny of the linesman and, unfortunately, no technology, including the video assistant referee (VAR), was able to confirm it. The VAR supposedly did not cover these areas or tasks.
Paul Pogba also spoke about his goal. As a player, I was only focused on one thing, catching the ball and getting on with the game.
“Dean’s kick was a little … we don’t know if it came out or not, we just chased him. I was just chasing him, I saw Bruno take the ball and I was free,” he said. Sky sports.
“I fired a shot in the first half, not very well. But the second came in and I’m happy with that,” added the French midfielder.
