Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – The Covid-19 Management Working Group noted that in the last week the death rate due to Covid-19 reached 105 cases, an increase of up to 25% compared to the period of the last week.
This was stated by the spokesperson for the Covid-19 Management Working Group Wiku Adisasmito on Youtube Setkab as cited (9/18/2020).
“In terms of the average percentage of deaths, it also increased from 3% last week to 7% this week,” Wiku said.
In more detail, this figure is dominated by vulnerable age groups. Wiku said that 80% of deaths due to Covid-19 were contributed by the age group over 45.
“This age group must maintain health and, as far as possible, not engage in activities outside the home and maintain a clean and healthy lifestyle. If you are forced to leave the house, you must correctly apply the protocols of health, that is, wear a mask, keep your distance and wash your hands diligently, “he said.
“Avoid using public transportation to prevent transmission. The same is true for the productive age group between 19 and 45, which is the largest age group in terms of confirmed positive percentage,” he explained.
Wiku also reminded the productive age group – that is, the age range of 19 to 45 – to really pay attention to their social interactions outside the home. The reason is that it is not impossible for this group to be carriers of a disease.
“As a productive age group and high mobility, in addition to a high frequency of social interactions, it has the potential to turn them into a carrier that can transmit Covid-19 to their families or vulnerable groups of people,” he said.
“This age group really needs to take care of themselves by implementing health protocols at work or when leaving home. And when they get home, they need to clean up before communicating with vulnerable age groups at home,” he said.
