KONTAN.CO.ID – JAKARTA. President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) officially reformed (remodeling) cabinet. Jokowi’s election of six new ministers was recorded.

One of Sakti Wahyu Trenggono, which is now the headquarters of the Minister of Marine Affairs and Fisheries (KKP) in the Advanced Indonesia Cabinet.

The Secretary General (Sekjen) of the People’s Coalition for Fisheries Justice (Kiara), Susan Herawati, said she was disappointed with the election of President Jokowi.

He hopes the chosen figure is someone who understands and stands on the side of the maritime community. “We are disappointed,” Susan told Kontan on Tuesday (12/22).

Susan said the main urgency for the new KKP Minister is to revoke the problematic Ministerial Regulations. For example, related to lobsters and the use of destructive fishing gear.

“And the most important thing is that the MMAF does not really dare to take a position on the agrarian conflicts that occur in coastal areas such as Pari Island, Sangiang Island, Mandalika Island, Lombok,” said Susan.

Third, not from the company / entrepreneur. Fourth, not the perpetrator or involved in the practice of environmental destruction and human rights violations. Fifth, be committed to resolving agrarian conflicts in coastal areas and small islands.

Sixth, dare to comply with the mandate of Law No. 7 of 2016 on Protection and Empowerment of Fishermen, Fish Farmers and Salineros. Seventh, promote recognition of the political identity of fisherwomen in Indonesia.

Ninth, there is no conflict of interest with other institutions. Finally, the new KKP Minister must have the courage to support the maritime community in rejecting the Omnibus Law (Employment Creation Law No. 11 of 2020).

“On the Omnibus, the KKP minister should have seen how the fisheries resources would be depleted,” said Susan.
