TEGAL, KOMPAS.com – A young man from Tegal City, Central Java, is desperate to try to bury himself alive in a public funeral complex (TPU).
The video of the rescue of a young man whose half body has been buried in TPU Debong Kidul by the authorities and the citizen went viral on social networks.
Babinsa, Debong Kidul Sub-district, Tegal Selatan District, Tegal City, Sertu Dasrim revealed, the young man named Wawan (23) was suspected of having mental disorders.

Wawan is a resident of Kepandean Village, Dukuhturi District, Tegal Regency. The Wawan action took place on Wednesday (12/30/2020) around 08.00 WIB.
“The condition of Wawan’s body at that time had entered the ground by about 70 centimeters, only the head and half of the body were visible with the face facing the ground,” Sertu Dasrim told reporters on Monday (1 / 4/2021).
Sertu Darsim was the first officer to arrive at the scene after receiving reports from residents.
Because the location of the TPU is adjacent to a market, residents immediately discovered the incident.

Darsim explained that while he was half buried, Wawan was still able to communicate with him.
“I approached her, apparently I wanted to be invited to communicate. I gave a hello to respond. I also answered her name,” Darsim said.
According to Darsim, the young man dug the ground by hand because he could not find any tools at the site.
After being persuaded, Wawan was finally evacuated and bathed.
The South Tegal police officer then accompanied him to his parents’ home in Kepandean Village.

Meanwhile, Wawan, when questioned by residents, admitted that he was determined to take action because he felt he had died.
“I go back to my nature (I’ll go back to my world), “Wawan said.
