KOMPAS.com – A video showing a dinosaur getting off a truck and being dragged by several people went viral on social media.

One of the videos was uploaded by the All About Magetan Twitter account @magetanbanget on Monday afternoon (12/14/2020).

To date, more than 2,200 people have liked the video andretweet more than 500 times.

Mojosemi Forest Park Manager Magetan Nanang Sedayu said that the video was taken on Monday (12/14/2020) and is located in Mojosemi Forest Park.

Sedayu said the video was a promotion by management to introduce a new vehicle at the tourist spot, called Mojosemi Dinosaurus Park.

“It’s part of our promotion. Inside (Mojosemi Forest Park) is a brand new vehicle, Dinosaurus Park, which has various types of dinosaurs, including the one we shipped yesterday,” Sedayu said when contacted. Kompas.com, Tuesday (12/15/2020).

Making “dinosaurs”

Sedayu said the Dinosaurus Park attractions have been open since early 2019. However, due to the corona virus pandemic, the number of visitors who came has dropped dramatically.

“So hopefully this pandemic passes soon, hopefully it can get crowded again,” Sedayu said.

Responding to netizens’ curiosity about the authenticity of the dinosaurs in the video, Sedayu said it was an attempt by the manager to present the dinosaurs as real.

“We made it as close to the original as possible, and it was also the work of the local people,” Sedayu said.

He said the dinosaurs were locally made vehicles, not imported from abroad or from movie studios. Jurassic Park.

“In the past we did import the materials, we studied them. Once we found them, we produced them ourselves,” Sedayu said.

Manufactured in the workshop since early 2020

The dinosaurs were made in his workshop in Magetan, East Java.

The creation was done by a creative team who were children from the Magetan area. This creative team previously learned how to make dinosaurs at a workshop in Yogyakarta.

Production started in early 2020, but was delayed due to the corona virus pandemic.

“From 2020, we will start (construction), but in March there was a pandemic. Then automatically the activity will decrease,” Sedayu said.

He said that the dinosaurs in yesterday’s video were robots, which he called animatronics.

“Animatronics is a combination of movement and sound (dinosaurs) that adjusts the original, including scale,” Sedayu said.

For the dinosaur in the viral video, Sedayu said the dinosaur was moved by a person inside and was assisted by an electronic device.

“There (people). Yesterday we wanted to make a video puzzle“Sedayu said.

“The video is really real. The suits, the dimensions conform to the original. It is bigger than a human, right, about two or three meters, “said Sedayu.
