Vice Chairman of Commission IX asks Jokowi to cancel the increase in BPJS health contributions

YAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – The vice president of the IX House of Representatives Commission of the PKS faction Anshory Siregar asked President Joko Widodo to revoke the Presidential Regulation (Perpres) Number 64 of 2020 on the revision of Perpres Number 82 of 2018 on Health Insurance .

Perpres is known to have a BPJS health rate increase policy.

“The government is callous and has proven not to be empathetic to the situation of people who are being affected by the Covid 19 pandemic, where people are suffering and suffering, but instead contributions from BPJS Health are increasing,” Anshory said in a written statement on Wednesday (05/13/2020).

Anshory considered it, the government did not set a good example by observing the law.

Because the decision of the Supreme Court (MA) is valid and binding so that the contributions of BPJS return to normal.

“For this reason, I am Ansory Siregar, vice chair of Commission IX of the House of Representatives of the PKS faction proposing to revoke Perpres 2020 Number 64 on the increase in BPJS health rates,” he said.

Furthermore, Anshory was disappointed that the policy was broadcast by the government when the Indonesian Parliament was in recess.

“Therefore, you cannot hold a working meeting with the government,” he continued.

President Joko Widodo reportedly increased BPJS health rates again.

This increase is contained in Perpres number 64 of 2020 with respect to the second amendment to Perpres number 82 of 2018 regarding health insurance.
