BOLASPORT.COM – The San Marino MotoGP race at the Misano circuit on Sunday (9/13/2020) has become the culmination of many people’s dreams. Two of Valentino Rossi’s students, Franco Morbidelli and Francesco Bagnaia, took the podium.

Francesco Bagnaia (Pramac Racing) followed Valentino Rossi on the last lap, while Franco Morbidelli (Petronas Yamaha SRT) finished first.

However, of all the dreams that came true at Misano, perhaps the most satisfying is that of Valentino Rossi.

Rossi has yet to reach his 200th podium, but the VR46 Academy program to which he has devoted all his heart, soul and money for over seven years is reaching its best day.

Rossi’s protégé also obtained positive results in Moto2 through Team Sky VR46 riders Luca Marini (Rossi’s half brother) and Marco Bezzecchi, who were on the first and second podiums.

That means that four of the nine podiums available in MotoGP, Moto2 and Moto3 have been for VR46 riders.

When Rossi finally retires (whenever that is), he will leave a legacy that adds more to the sport he loves after a decade of dominance by the Spanish.

“It is our challenge to lead the Italians to the top. We have a great history, but in recent years the movement to go up is quite low,” Rossi was quoted as saying by BolaSport.com of The Race.

“Being at the Academy is like being in Florence during the Renaissance, being an artist or a poet or a writer, with Vale as a teacher,” Morbidelli said.
