The manager of the home methamphetamine factory S alias Ustaz Chen (32) in East Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), faces up to 20 years in prison. He was accused of article 113 subsection 2 of Law 35 of 2009 on Narcotic Drugs.
“Ustaz was charged under article 113, paragraph 2 of Law number 35 on narcotics, year 2009, with the threat of 20 years in prison,” said the Head of the Ditresnarkoba Opsnal Team of the NTB Regional Police, I Made Yogi Purusa Utam, a detikcom, Monday (11/23/2020).
Yogi said that Ustaz Chen was a repeat offender for drug cases. Chen was released 8 months ago.
“Yes, he was free 8 months ago,” he said.
After being released from prison, Chen invited his wife to stay at his brother’s home in Pancor Selong, East Lombok. It was in this house that Chen manufactured and mixed methamphetamine.
Yogi said that before he became a methamphetamine dealer and manufacturer, Chen was a professor of the Quran. Chen taught the tarekat of the Qur’an and had many students.
On the other hand, the Resnarkoba director of the West Nusa Tenggara regional police, Kombes Helmi Kwarta Kusuma PR, said that Chen had not taught the Quran for a long time. This was after Chen decided to change his profession as a methamphetamine dealer.
“Past teach ngaji before transferring his profession to the city of sabu, the community knows him as ustaz, “said Helmi.
Chen has a homemade methamphetamine factory controlled by an inmate named General Yusuf. Helmi said that Yusuf promised Chen 100 million rupees every time he mixes shabu.
“He said that Yusuf would pay him 100 million rupees for each production,” he explained.
Previously, the home methamphetamine factory that was raided by the NTB Regional Police Narcotics Directorate in East Lombok was suspected of being controlled by inmates still serving sentences at the correctional institution (prison). The inmate known as General Yusuf was said to have delivered the ingredients to the crystal methamphetamine factory.
