WASHINGTON DC, KOMPAS.com – The results of the counting of votes for the presidential election of the United States, between Donald Trump and Joe Biden, show fierce competition in several key states.
But the results are expected to be determined by the tens of millions of postal votes not counted.
So far, the results have been very strict in the key states, Arizona, Georgia, Wisconsin, Michigan and Pennsylvania.

Speaking from the White House Tuesday night, Trump declared victory and said he would initiate a lawsuit through the Supreme Court over vote by mail, without providing any evidence.
“To be honest, we have won this election,” he said at the White House. “Obviously we have won in Georgia and North Carolina. We won in Pennsylvania with incredible numbers,” he added.
“This is a shame for our country,” he said, adding that he plans to challenge the election results in the Supreme Court.
Vice President Mike Pence attempted to neutralize Trump’s comments and refused to declare victory, emphasizing that all legally entered votes would be counted.
Biden’s campaign team said Trump’s comments questioning the legitimacy of the vote had not yet been counted as “scandalous, unprecedented and false.”

Joe Biden, speaking to supporters in Delaware, said “this year is going to be a long one.”
“But who knows if we can fight maybe until tomorrow morning, maybe more!” Biden said.
“It doesn’t end until all the votes, all the ballots count,” he said, noting that “he is on the way to winning.”
An adviser to Donald Trump revealed Florida’s important role.
“If Florida falls to Biden, then the game is over. However, if Florida wins Trump, then the fight will continue,” the adviser said. CBS, miter BBC In the USA.
So far, several of the Democratic and Republican foci of power have completed the vote and there are no major surprises.
Most states tend to be one-party, so each presidential candidate’s focus is typically on the 12 or more states with a 50-50 chance of winning. These states are known as “battlefield states” or key battle states.

How are the results so far?
The battle for the two presidential candidates is congested in five key states: Arizona, Georgia, Wisconsin, Michigan and Pennsylvania.
Arizona appears to be leaning toward Biden, so the Democratic presidential candidate must win in two of the three states (Wisconsin, Michigan and Pennsylvania) to win the presidential election.
Biden appears to be lagging behind Trump in all three states, but not all ballots have been counted.
There are more than 1.4 million ballots in the state of Pennsylvania mailed, and it could take days to count them all. The major cities of Michigan (Detroit) and Wisconsin (Milwaukee) have also not counted all the votes.

Meanwhile, Georgia is a “wild card.” When the new vote counting began, the state looked like it would be easy for Trump to win, but as more ballots came in, the competition became fierce.
Based on projections BBCTrump will defend Ohio and Missouri, which are known as determining states because they often determine the winner of the presidential election.
BBC play memproyeksikan Trump bakal memenangi Alabama, Mississippi, Idaho, Wyoming, South Carolina, Kansas, Nebraska, Utah, Louisiana, Indiana, North Dakota, South Dakota, Kentucky, Tennessee, Oklahoma, Arkansas, and West Virginia.
Biden, as projected BBC, akan memenangi Negara Bagian Delaware, California, Virginia, New York, Oregon, Washington, Illinois, New Hampshire, Connecticut, New Mexico, Colorado, Vermont, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, and Washington DC.
Both presidential candidates spent their final days campaigning in key states.
Donald Trump, 74, is trying not to become the first incumbent president to fail to win a second term since George HW Bush in 1992.
After a campaign marathon for several days before the presidential election, Trump returned to the White House; while Biden went to Scranton, Pennsylvania, his childhood home and base of the Democratic Party in Philadelphia.

When asked about his plans, Trump admitted he had no preparations.
“No, I haven’t thought of a defeat speech or an acceptance speech. I hope we do one of those two and, you know, winning is easy, losing is never easy. Not for me, not for me,” Trump said.
On the other hand, Joe Biden, the Democratic presidential candidate, said he was “full of hope.”
However, Biden will not establish his plans if the results are not announced on November 3.
“There are so many ongoing rights right now … We’ll see,” Biden said.
“If there is something to talk about tonight, I will speak. If not, I will wait until the ballots are counted the next day,” he continued.

Who determines which presidential candidate wins a state?
Official US election results don’t come out for days or even weeks. As such, the media quickly made predictions, or projections, of the winners in each state.
Teams of experts and statisticians analyze combined information, such as data exit poll (interviews with voters in polling stations and calls for voters who cast their vote before November 3), as well as data on the vote count.
In a country that always chooses a particular party, results are sometimes projected as soon as the vote ends, according to exit polls. However, in the fierce competition, more data is taken from the vote count in the field.

This year BBC obtained data from the Edison Research survey institute that did not exit poll in the field, as well as working closely with US media networks, i.e. ABC, CBS, CNNY NBC.
Early voting or early voting complicate the calculations so that neither race produces a result.
Yes BBC and its partners believe that there is not enough data to project a winner, it will not be announced even if other media do.
Do these elections only elect the president?
While all the focus is on the Trump-Biden rivalry, voters also determine new members of Congress by filling out the ballot.
Democrats have controlled the lower house of parliament or the RPD, so they are determined to defend this and aspire to control the Senate.
If Democrats have a majority in the House and Senate, the Donkey Party will be able to block or delay Trump’s plans if he is reelected as president.
A total of 435 seats in the US House of Representatives were up for grabs in this year’s election, while there are 33 seats up for grabs in the Senate.
