US elections break records, Biden surpasses Obama’s total vote in 2008 Page all

WASHINGTON DC, KOMPAS.com – US presidential candidate Joe Biden broke the record of his former boss, Barack Obama, in 2008.

12 years ago, Obama received 69,498,516 votes, which is the highest number in the history of the US elections.

Then now in the 2020 US elections, Biden, who was Obama’s vice president for 2 terms, while he has received 70,470,207 (50.3 percent) votes and will continue to grow.

Reported CBS News On Wednesday (4/11/2020), Biden edged out Donald Trump, who had just garnered 67,280,936 votes (48.0 percent).

Competition for the White House in the US presidential elections is increasingly fierce, depending on which state each candidate wins.

With millions of votes that have not been counted, there is the possibility that the two presidential candidates will break the vote record of Obama, who at the time was facing Senator John McCain.

Even so, winning the popular vote (popular votes) is not a guarantee of winning the US presidential election.

In 2016, for example, Hillary Clinton did popular votes but lost in electoral votes with Trump.

But Trump exceeded expectations on Tuesday (03/11/2020), by securing several crucial states like Ohio, Florida and Texas, which were initially predicted to fall into the arms of Democrats.

Biden’s campaign team calls it a brazen attempt to take away democratic rights from Americans.
