Suara.com – The wave of rejection of the Employment Creation Law continues, it is estimated that six thousand students will hold a demonstration tomorrow at the Presidential Palace, in Jalan Merdeka Utara, Central Jakarta, on Friday (10/16/2020).

Andi Khiyar, a member of the All Indonesia Student Executive Board Alliance or BEM SI, said students continue to urge President Joko Widodo to issue a government regulation instead of the Perppu / legislation to cancel the Omnibus Act of the Creation of Job.

“The estimate is that around 6,000 people will come from Kalimantan and Sulawesi, the demands remain the same as yesterday, we still urge the president to issue a Perppu,” Andi told Suara.com on Thursday (10/16/2020 ).

He explained that the action would begin at 1:00 p.m. WIB or after Friday prayers, they urged the government to cancel the Job Creation Law and focus on controlling the Covid-19 pandemic.

Andi asked all protesters to equip themselves with masks, face shields, hand sanitizers and personal medicine, considering that the demonstration will take place during the Covid-19 pandemic.

It is known that the DPR and the government passed into law the Creation Bill in a plenary session in the DPR Building, Senayan, on Monday (05/10/2020).

This decision was approved by seven of the nine factions, among which PDIP, Golkar, Gerindra, Nasdem, PKB, PAN and PPP agreed. Meanwhile, the two factions that rejected him were the Democrats and the PKS.

The ratification of the Employment Creation Law also provoked strong reactions with a wave of demonstrations from civil society such as students, indigenous peoples, the working class, teachers and religious leaders.
