Palembang (ANTARA) – Positive residents infected with COVID-19 in South Sumatra on May 14 increased 119 cases or a total of 441 cases and were recorded as a new record for the highest daily addition in the 8 million population .

South Sumatra Task Force COVID-19 spokesperson for Nur Purwoko Widodo Management Acceleration in Palembang said Thursday that 119 additions to the majority were from Palembang City (73), followed by Ogan Ilir (17 ), Banyuasin (8), Muara Enim (five), OKI (four), Lubuklinggau (three), Prabumulih (three), Musi Banyuasin (two), East OKU (three) and OKU (one).

“We are concerned about the number of additional cases today, which is why we are constantly urging that physical distancing is always done while avoiding the crowd,” he said.

The 119 cases have local status of local broadcasts in each region, especially the city of Palembang, Prabumulih, OKU, Banyuasin and Lubuklinggau, which are already in the red zone.

Although it has increased significantly, according to him, positive cases in South Sumatra still come from positive family groups and have been quarantined, they have found no cases in public areas.

Furthermore, the case findings remain from the yellow and red zone in 14 districts / cities, while the three districts, namely PALI, Empat Lawang and OKU Selatan, are still in the green zone or 0 cases.

With the addition of 119 cases, the city of Palembang (red zone) remains at the top with 239 cases, followed by Lubuklinggau (red zone) 39 cases, OKU (red zone) 27 cases, Ogan Komering Ilir Regency (yellow zone) 27 cases, Ogan Ilir (yellow zone) 25, Banyuasin (red zone) 24 cases and Prabumulih (red zone) 16 cases.

Other cases span seven areas of the yellow zone, namely Musi Rawas (eight), Muara Enim (eight), Lahat (six), Musi Banyuasin (five), East OKU (four), Muratara (two), and Pagaralam (one), specifically from outside South Sumatra but dealt with in South Sumatra up to nine cases.

Although the recovered cases did not experience additions or are still 73 cases, as well as the death cases increased in one person from Prabumulih, bringing the total to 10 people until May 14.
