JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – The Covid-19 pandemic in Indonesia has been going on for more than six months. The government has adopted various ways to reduce the transmission rate, for example, implementing large-scale social restrictions in various areas.
However, the government stated that transmission of the corona virus still occurred in the community.
The number of Covid-19 cases in the country continues to grow today, Monday (9/21/2020).
According to government data as of Monday at 12.00 WIB, there were 4,176 additional new cases of Covid-19 in the last 24 hours.
Thus, the number of Covid-19 cases in Indonesia has reached 248,852 people, as of the announcement that the first patient was infected with the corona virus on March 2, 2020.

This information was transmitted by the Covid-19 Management Working Group through data received by journalists on Monday afternoon.

The patient recovered and died
The government is trying to generate hope amid growing Covid-19 cases, by showing that more and more patients are recovering.
In one day, there were an additional 3,470 Covid-19 patients who recovered and were no longer infected with the corona virus.
They were declared cured after the examination with the method Polymerase chain reaction (PCR) shows negative results for the corona virus.
The addition has led to the total number of recovered Covid-19 patients now reaching 180,797.

However, there is still sad news with the increasing number of Covid-19 patients who have died.
In the period of September 20-21, 2020, an additional 124 patients with Covid-19 died.
Therefore, the death rate due to Covid-19 in Indonesia has now reached 9,677 people.
Apart from the positive cases, the government also announced that there are currently 108,880 people with suspected status.

Sample data
A total of 4,176 new cases of Covid-19 were obtained after the government examined 27,525 specimens per day.
During that period, 24,825 individuals were sampled for specimen examination.
In total, the government has examined 2,950,173 specimens from 1,743,000 people sampled.
With registration, a person can submit to the examination of the sample more than once.

So far, the Covid-19 case has been recorded in 34 provinces or all provinces of Indonesia, from Aceh to Papua.
In detail, there are 494 districts / cities of 34 provinces that have been affected by the corona virus infection.
This number has increased by one region compared to yesterday’s data.
This means that more than 95 percent of the territory of Indonesia has been affected by the pandemic.
