UPDATE: Covid-19 cases in Indonesia reached 252,923, increasing 4,071 pages in total

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – Indonesia experienced a record increase in Covid-19 patients in one day yesterday, Monday (9/21/2020), with 4,176 new cases.

Government data also shows that corona virus transmission is still occurring in the community as of today, Tuesday (9/22/2020).

In fact, the number of additional Covid-19 patients remains high, over 4,000 new cases a day.

According to data entered on Tuesday (9/22/2020) at 12.00 WIB, there were 4,071 new cases of Covid-19 in the last 24.

The addition has brought the total number of Covid-19 cases in Indonesia now to 252,923 people, as of the announcement of the first COVID-19 patient on March 2, 2020.

This information was revealed by the Covid-19 Management Working Group in data sent to journalists on Tuesday afternoon.

The data can also be accessed through the Covid19.go.id website, with to update information available every afternoon.

The patient recovered and died

Covid-19 cases have continued to rise, but the government is trying to generate hope by showing that many Covid-19 patients have recovered.

In one day, there are 3501 additional Covid-19 patients who are considered to be no longer infected with the corona virus.

They were declared cured after the examination with the method Polymerase chain reaction (PCR) shows negative results for the corona virus.

Therefore, the total number of Covid-19 patients who declared themselves cured and were no longer infected with the corona virus reached 184,298 people.

However, there is still sad news with the presence of Covid-19 patients who have passed away.

In the period from August 21 to 22, 2020, another 160 patients with Covid-19 died.

This is the highest number related to the addition of patients dying from Covid-19 in one day.

Thus, the Covid-19 death rate in Indonesia reached 9,837 people.

Sample data

Meanwhile, up to 4,071 new cases of Covid-19 were known after the government examined 43,896 specimens per day.

During the same time, 31,065 people were sampled to examine the samples.

In total, the government has examined 2,994,069 specimens versus 1,774,065 people.

With registration, a person can submit to the examination of the sample more than once.

So far, all the provinces of Indonesia have registered cases of Covid-19.

In more detail, there are 494 districts / cities in 34 provinces that have been affected by the corona virus infection.

This means that the impact of the pandemic has been felt in around 96 percent of the territory of Indonesia. There are 20 districts / cities that have not registered any case of Covid-19.
