KOMPAS.com – The Minister of Manpower (Menaker), Ida Fauziyah, confirmed that there will be no increase in the minimum wage next year, both the provincial minimum wage (UMP) and the district / city minimum wage (UMK).

Quoted Kompas.com, Wednesday (10/28/2020), as stated in Circular Number M / 11 / HK.04 / X / 2020 regarding the Determination of the Minimum Wage in 2021 during the Corona Virus Disease Pandemic 2019 (Covid-19 ).

The reason the government does not raise the minimum wage in 2021 is because Indonesia’s economic situation is currently in a recovery period. According to the government, rising wages in 2021 will indeed be a burden on the business world.

“To provide protection and labor continuity to workers / day laborers and maintain business continuity, it is necessary to make adjustments to the determination of the minimum wage in the situation of economic recovery during the Covid-19 pandemic,” Ida said in a circular.

There are several regions that have made decisions about the size of the UMP. However, there are still many who have not made a final decision regarding the UMP.

In the SE, it was reported that the regional holder was obliged to announce the amount of the UMP on October 31, 2020.

The following is the UMP of each province in 2020 and several regions that have been decided by the UMP 2021.

1. DKI Jakarta

Quoted Kompas.com, Wednesday (10/28/2020) the provincial government (pemprov) of DKI Jakarta will follow the central government’s decision not to increase the UMP 2021.

So UMP DKI Jakarta 2021 is IDR 4,276,349 per month.

2. Central Java

Reported Kompas.comOn October 27, 2020, Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo admitted that he did not want to rush to announce the amount of the 2021 UMP.

“Because the Menaker circular said that the minimum wage must be the same as last year, we are currently reviewing the team to speak with the Wage and Tripartite Council so that everything is comfortable and understood,” he said.

Ganjar emphasized that he would not be in a rush, because there was still time to study and communicate with various parties.

Meanwhile, Central Java UMP 2020, cited Kompas.com, November 2, 2019, was IDR 1,742,015.22.

3. Papua

Quoted on the official page Papua Provincial Government, The Papua Provincial Minimum Wage 2020 (PSU) is officially set at 3,516,700 IDR from the previous 3,240,900 IDR.

The stipulation of the UMP through Decree of the Governor of Papua Number 188.4 / 369/2019 on Minimum Wages and Sectoral Minimum Wages of the Province of Papua in 2020, and Government Regulation Number 78 of 2015 on Wages.

Papua has not yet determined how much the 2021 PMU will be.

4. North Sulawesi

Quoted Kompas.comOn November 1, 2019, North Sulawesi Governor Olly Dondokambey announced the 2020 provincial minimum wage (UMP) of IDR 3,310,723. North Sulawesi has also not determined the UMP 2021 yet.

5. Bangka Belitung

Reported Kompas.com, On October 28, 2019, Bangka Belitung Islands Governor Erzaldi Rosman said that the 2020 provincial minimum wage (UMP) increased by 8.51 percent or an increase of IDR 300,000, which is IDR 3,230,022.

Until this news was written, Bangka Belitung has not announced the 2021 UMP.

6. South Sulawesi

Reported Kompas.com, On November 1, 2019, South Sulawesi Governor Nurdin Abdullah announced the 2020 Provincial Minimum Wage (UMP) of IDR 3,103,800. South Sulawesi has not announced the UMP 2021.

7. South Sumatra

Quoted Kompas.comOn November 6, 2018, the Provincial Minimum Wage (PMU) in South Sumatra increased from the original 2.6 million rupees to 2.8 million rupees. South Sumatra has yet to announce UMP 2021.

8. West Java

The West Java Provincial Government sets the West Java UMP in 2020 at IDR 1,810,351. The UMP is contained in Governor’s Decree Number 561 / Kep.1046-Yanbangsos / 2018 on the 2020 West Java UMP.

Quoted Kompas.comOn November 1, 2019, West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil revealed that the UMP stipulation is in accordance with Government Regulation (PP) Number 78/2015 on wages.

However, West Java has yet to determine the amount of the 2021 UMP.

17. Central Kalimantan

Central Kalimantan has a PMU of IDR 2,903,144 in 2020 and a PMU of 2021 has not been determined.

18. Riau

Meanwhile, Riau has a UMP of IDR 2,888,563 in 2020. Riau has not announced the UMP for 2021.

34. NTT

The NTT UMP in 2020 amounting to Rp 1,945,902 and the 2021 UMP has not been announced.
