There has been no statement or response from the security apparatus regarding Nabiel’s statement. CNNIndonesia.com He has contacted Public Relations of Polda Yogyakarta but has not received a response.

Nabiel also said that when the demonstration against the Job Creation Law was taking place, she was late and followed other protesters on motorcycles, from the UGM roundabout to the DIY DPRD building in the Malioboro area of Yogyakarta.

He was in first position when the demonstration broke out again in front of the entrance to the DIY DPRD complex.

Nabiel suspected that the riots occurred because the security forces were sparked by the actions of some of the protesters who were still teenagers.

“By the way, my position was right behind the personnel (of the apparatus). When the confrontations and the chaos began, I also resigned with the police, I entered the DPRD room,” he said.

However, while he was in the DPRD room, one of the officers approached Nabiel and began questioning him. From there they picked him up along with other protesters and took him to the top floor of the building.

His cell phone was also confiscated and he was repeatedly beaten. Also, because he didn’t want to admit to being a provocateur.

Towards dusk, Nabiel was told to squat from the third floor of the DPRD building to a van to be taken to Yogyakarta police.
