Suara.com – The Center for Anti-Corruption Studies at the University of Gadjah Mada asked the government to substantiate the assertions of Economy Minister Airlangga Hartanto regarding the claim that the action against the Employment Creation Law was underway.

UGM Pukat researcher Agung Nugroho said that actions taken by workers with students in Indonesia to oppose the Job Creation Law were simply because the regulation was harmful to the people.

“Please the government show who benefits from the labor and student actions,” Agung told Suara.com, Thursday (10/8/2020).

Agung said that actions against the Job Creation Law are taking place more and more in various regions of Indonesia, because the Law does not bring welfare to the people.

He said that this was evident in the articles of the Employment Creation Law which, according to him, undermined the rights of workers.

“I do believe that it is precisely the Employment Creation Law that is full of certain interests. Naturally, this has drawn the attention of workers and their students to hold a demonstration demanding the repeal of the labor copyright law, ”Agung said.

“Because this is because they began to go out into the streets with their hearts. Because they feel that in the future they will be affected by the Employment Creation Law ”, Agung concluded.

Previously, Airlangga said that there were many demonstration movements that opposed the passage of the Omnibus Law on Job Creation because it was sponsored by someone.

Airlangga said the accusation was due to the government being very upset with the demonstration amid the corona virus pandemic.

“Actually, the government knows who is behind (behind) the demonstration. So we know who moved it. We know who the sponsor is, we know who financed it,” Airlangga said in a television program on Thursday 2020).

Airlangga confidently states that this law has been strongly supported by all levels of society, including workers.
