Jakarta –
Twitter will assign work from home (WFH) permanently. This decision reflects the transformation of new ways of working for companies, especially in the United States (USA).
This news was confirmed by Twitter Vice President Jennifer Christi. He revealed that the experience of working from home in recent months shows that his employees can still work optimally.
“If our employees want to work from home and the decision will be made after the pandemic ends. We will support it and make it happen,” said Christi. Quoted from CNN, Wednesday (05/13/2020).
However, Twitter has not confirmed which divisions the WFH will be able to do permanently.
During the Corona pandemic, Twitter will not reopen its office until next September. The company has also canceled several internal events until the end of 2020, and is likely to run until 2021.
Twitter previously planned to increase its workforce by 20% this year. But the Corona pandemic postponed the plan in an effort to control corporate spending. Twitter now only employs important fields, such as engineering and products, as well as trust and security divisions.
It is confirmed that Facebook (FB) and Google (GOOGL) will also allow their employees to continue working from home until the end of the year. Followed by Amazon (AMZN), which will allow its employees to work from home until the beginning of October.
