The President of the United States (USA), Donald Trump, has warned his challenger, Joe Biden, the Democratic presidential candidate, not to “falsely claim” that he has become the elected president of the United States. The call was made by Trump after Biden turned out to be ahead of him in the votes in the states of Georgia and Pennsylvania.

“Joe Biden should not falsely claim the position of president. I can also make that statement,” Trump said through his Twitter account, according to press reports. AFP, Saturday (7/11/2020). “The legal process has only just begun!” added.

Trump himself has repeatedly claimed, unilaterally, that he won the 2020 U.S. presidential election, despite the fact that the counting process in various states has not been fully completed.

Trump and Biden’s votes are now in stiff competition in several key states, notably Georgia and Pennsylvania, where Biden has managed to turn things around after falling behind Trump’s vote.

The provisional position shows Biden winning with 264 electoral votes over Trump, who just won 214 electoral votes. It takes 270 electoral votes, out of a total of 538 electoral votes, to win the US presidential election. If Biden wins only one of those states, he will be declared the new president of the United States.

Biden is scheduled to give the final speech from his home in Wilmington, Delaware, on Friday night (6/11) US time, fueling speculation that he will declare victory. But none of the major American television networks has confirmed Biden as the winner of the presidential election, so there is a possibility that he will change his plans.

Trump’s own campaign has filed a series of lawsuits in states where Biden has led temporary votes. The Trump campaign team’s lawsuit alleges election fraud, but no strong evidence has been provided to back up the allegations.

In his most recent comments via Twitter, Trump again claimed that fraud was being committed to erase his superiority in several states.

“I have a huge advantage in all of these states until midnight on Election Night, only to see that advantage magically disappear as the days go by. Perhaps this advantage will return as our legal process progresses!” Trump said.
