Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – President-elect of the United States (USA) Joseph Robinette Biden Jr. or Joe Biden said that more people would die from the coronavirus (Covid-19) if the Donald Trump administration continued to delay the transition with his team.
“If we have to wait until January 20 to start planning, it will delay us more than a month and a half. So this is important, now there is coordination,” Biden said at a news conference on Monday (11/16/2020 ). since CNBC International.
“More people could die if we don’t coordinate. How can we vaccinate more than 300 million Americans? What’s the action plan? It’s a really big, really big job.”
The Democratic politician also told reporters that he would not hesitate to get vaccinated against the coronavirus if he was trusted to govern. Vaccines will be given to those who need them most.
“The people who need it most are important to getting it. I would not hesitate to get vaccinated, but I also want to lead by example,” Biden said.
According to him, people have doubts about the safety of vaccines because of Trump’s actions. Where the former businessman once advised the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to hastily approve a vaccine, before Presidential Election Day on November 3.
Meanwhile, Biden’s chief of staff, Ron Klain, said that Biden’s coronavirus advisor would meet with a coronavirus vaccine development company. But Klain’s health officials cannot coordinate with federal government employees until the Public Services Administration approves the transition process.
Trump has refused to acknowledge the election, although he acknowledged in a tweet posted Sunday that Biden had won. Yesterday he retracted his comments.

“From day one our goal was to go fast, and really every day and hour counts, and that is why we are where we are now. Which is clear, we hope there will be no interruptions due to the transition,” Slaoui said.
White House spokesman Brian Morgenstern also defended Trump. In his email, Morgenstern wrote that Democrats had “played politics” by “casting doubt on vaccines.
