KOMPAS.com – One of the volunteers for the Sinovac vaccine trial, China, was reportedly exposed to Covid-19.
Regarding this information, it was confirmed by Prof. Kusnandi Rusmil, Head of the Research Team of Clinical Trials for Phase 3 of the Covid-19 Vaccine of the Faculty of Medicine, UNPAD.
According to Kusnandi, these volunteers are being closely monitored.
Even though he tested positive for Covid-19, his condition is known to be in good condition.
So the person in question is now doing isolation independently.

Travel out of town
Kusnandi explained that the volunteer who tested positive for Covid-19 was known to have traveled out of town after receiving the first injection.
“After receiving the first injection, the volunteers traveled outside the city,” Kusnandi said in a statement on Thursday (10/09/2020).
After traveling from out of town, the volunteer also received a second injection.
The reason is that at that time it was clinically known that the person in question was healthy and without complaints.

However, he was unable to confirm whether the volunteers received an injection of a vaccine in the form of killed virus or an injection of placebo in the form of a solution without the vaccine.
Since in the clinical trial of the vaccine, the volunteers were divided into two groups, namely the vaccine and the placebo and were carried out in principle blind observer or in disguise.
