Tottenham Hotspur successfully qualified for the semi-finals of the English League Cup. Tottenham can now expect great things because the coach, José Mourinho, has a graceful record.
Tottenham Hotspur qualified for the English League Cup semi-finals after beating Stoke City 3-1 at Bet365 Stadium on Thursday (12/24/2020) early morning WIB. Goals from Gareth Bale, Ben Davies and Harry Kane could only be answered by the hosts once through Jordan Thompson.
With this classification, Tottenham followed two other teams that had pitched first. They are Brentford who beat Newcastle United 1-0 and Manchester City who beat Arsenal 4-1.
Another ticket will be up for grabs for Everton and Manchester United, on Thursday (12/24) this morning WIB.
By qualifying for the semi-finals, Tottenham can now start dreaming big to lift the competition trophy. The reason is none other than the factor of José Mourinho’s experience.
This is Mourinho’s fifth semi-final and he has never stopped winning four times before. The Portuguese manager won three times with Chelsea in 2004/2005, 2006/2007 and 2014/2015, and once with Manchester United in 2016/2017.
While Mourinho has yet to prove once again that the record is not a joke, Tottenham now have higher hopes of ending the title drought. Yes, Tottenham haven’t won anything since 2008.
Tottenham Hotspur’s last title was the 2007/2008 Premier League Cup. So, with Mourinho, will the wait end this season?
